It has been great this term for the middle school because we have science as our topic for speeches. Amazing students have chosen fabulous topics one of them is Ernest Rutherford,Clouds,Elbert Einstein.we can't wait to see who wins.

The best day at basketball with Yahrin

The first day at basketball was so... unwaitble!When we got there we couldn't wait to start.  The  first  thing  we  did  was dribbling.It was easy peasy lemon sqeezy .

SWIMMING!

This term we are going swimming every friday at Lloyd Elsmor park.First we found out what lane's we we'r going to swim in.Then we got in the cold  water and started practising to swim.

nappies investigation

In Room 30 we  have been doing a nappy investigation.First we go into pairs of two.Next we pulled the nappies apart.Then we got out the polymers from the nappies. Next we got 2 cups we put water in one the other one we put the polymers in then we put water in it 10 times and the polymers absorb the water.

Basket Ball

At basket ball our teacher Yaran asked us what we did last week. Last week we learnt V bouncing, chest pass, bounce pass, overhead pass. My favourite was bounce pass. Yaran had a assistant i forgot her name but she was good at basket ball.

BASKET BALL

Every Tuesday we play Basket Ball in the hall and it is really fun. The stuff that we do are really easy but it is still fun.The guy who teaches us is Yaren he teaches us lots of cool tricks!!

PARKOUR

Parkour is a good sport because its makes you fit. Parkour means that you do flips and jumping.

But the bad thing is when you fail you might hurt yourself really bad if you do hard things.

Swimming Lessons

Our class room 30 has started swimming lessons!

It is awesome because all three of us is in the top group.

We do lots of different types of swimming strokes and one of them is freestyle.

I like it because it is fun and you learn lots of things. 

Swimming

Every Friday Room 30 goes to the public swimming pools. First we have to get on the the bus to the pools. We first got into our groups and then we got in the pool to meet our teachers.

BasketBall

Omg!! We went to basketball.Our Coach was Yaran First he taught us how to do v bounce and we dribble with our fingertips.After he taught us that he showed us the jump stop you have go forward and bend your knee. At the end we had to throw the basket ball into the net and it was boys vs girls The boys WON!!!!!

ASB Guy

Omg!! Today a ASB teacher came to teach us abut money it was awesome time.I will tell you what happened.First she told us to to in back in time (pretend).There was one guy she had to much money that was the problem for her she had nowhere to put it.The Second guys problem was he could not 
lift his treasure chest so he got a hole in his pants.The third person he had got some tusks and want to traded them for food but all the food was discusting.At the end we got ASB bands but we had to wait for our teacher to give it out.

Clevedon School

Yesterday on 25 June 2015 Clevedon school came to our school my buddy was Charlie, I was supposed to take him to the tour it was like he was taking me to a tour.After we took them on a tour we did a buddy  questionnaire, our answers were almost the same

On tuesday clevdon school came to our school and we all had partners before they came to our school   my partner was called Nicholas he is a boy.When we got our partners we had to bring our partner to our class then we had to show them our school the people are all 9 years old.And they school is very small.And  when they came to our school they all said WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    And 2 weeks we are going to go to clevedon school.I am so EXITED!!!!! It will be really fun.Then we are ready to go to jump and after was morning tea we had to go with our buddies me and my buddy played soccer.After we had to go back to class.                                                                                                                                              

paper plane test

First we did our hypothesis some people had different thoughts on what the planes would do some other people had same thoughts as the other person . Next we made our paper planes they out of cardboard,crepe paper  and photo copy paper the only different thing was the wight of the paper everything else was the same the design and the  size.Then we flew the paper planes after that we measured how far it went most people measured in center meters we all used the same measuring rulers and types of measurements like cm m  .Room 30 went in to  were in groups of 3s we all had a expert person ok person and have no idea person so we had one kind of person each and it would be fair in the paper plane test .Next we put in the measurement  in the laptop on google drive we put the measurements it was next to our names of the people in the group and planes the group made.Next we put all the results together and did the maths on our calculator . Then we checked our hypothesis if it was right or a little right or completely wrong it did`t matter about our hypothesis results. Finally we had the right results and measurements so it was finally the end of the test and most of room 30 didt have the crepe paper go that far the paper plane that went the most furthist was the photo copy paper that is normal paper.    

Bash with Oskar and Sumit

Omg!! we were going to play bash.Oskar was felling happy that we were going to play bash.I was felling excited.I was number nine and Oskar was number 1.In the first one i got wrecked and in oskar got rot as well in the first one.In the second on I wrecked them and oskar rekt them as well. After that everyone else was going very hard because they almost hit me and got me to hospital and the round was going on for ever.I accidentally hit the ice cream thing and no one saw it.Oskar felt very happy that he did not get hit.When our teacher called the number we had to go play the game.

At soccer i as playing papakura at green mount and i saw blade and leo and cory.The sorce was 23-0 and we got 23.Blake bucks lands beach and he won 8-0 and blake got that 8 points.Iv am a grade 8 rep div 1 and blake is a garde 9 div 1.

Our buddies are from a different school we have been sending letters to them and emailing them.
First we  Draft writing books then we publish it onto a paper.
Next we send it to our buddies Then we they replyed on email and paper.
most of them live in farms we have been talking about ourself in the letters and emails.
Then we meet them but we havient yet.

with her golden fat mermaid tail.Her bright yellow face super outstanding.She is land
and sea taniwha.She wakes up In the sea and wonder around the land.When the sun goes
down she goes to the sea and go to sleep.She always go to the hills because her favourite
food is always there.

Room 30's exciting ice creams

First we cut out the cone and the ice cream shape.  Then it started getting messy.  We started  painting  with the colour of our favourite ice cream.  Then we typed up our letters to Rosie Posie [we also read a story about her]Soon the glue came out and then one day the classroom turned into a ice cream shop.

Minecraft

On minecraft I have built a castle, skate park, rollercoster, city, gym and a mansions in my mansion I have made a disco room living room and 3 bathroom and 4 bedrooms. In my mansion I have a big bedroom and I have a little bathroom I have a toilet and a bath.In my gym I have a treadmill.

Today i had a typing comp we haven't done it but me know i will wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnn. Me and Sumit are very good at typing.

Me and Neil going to Eric's house!!!!!

On Saturday me and Neil went to Eric’s House. First we had lunch.After that Eric’s watched TV then eric wanted  minecraft mods so I downloaded the orespawn mod and he also wanted to play Notch land - the best theme park in minecraft. Neil wanted to play notch land While me and Eric were playing Xbox.Then eric’s brother Evan     Eric and me had the same water gun so we had a water fight on the trampoline We jumped so high.Finally Eric wanted to know how to download notch land I download it for him and then I had to go.But IT  WAS AMAZING AND FUN!!!!!!!!!

Omg!! I was so excited that im getting eric’s s skype name so i can talk to him me and eric both had a laptop so we could screen share.I screen shared the most becaue he wanted to see me play batman arkham city and batman arkham ayulum those are on of my favorite games.Me and eric also can play games and join in the game and we already did it the game was called trigger fist the person with the most kills wins.He also wanted to see me play minecraft because i have lots of mods like SuperHero Unlimited thats my favourite mod! He even watched me download a modpack on minecraft and play the modpack.When i was screen sharing on skype i found out that eric can see what video im watching without lag.

last week on friday i played minecraft I flew to the desert and I was walking very slowly and suddenly my screen turned red and then I turned around and then I saw a sticky spider. I tried to run like a crazy man then he got stuck on my head.

Netball

On 21 april 2015 we played netball and when and when we did botany college sport my last sport was netball and we learnt that when you have the ball you can't move at the end we played a cool game my team lost. Our teachers were Wendy and Tracey. My team was with Wendy. I love Netball

Sea Turtles

Sea turtles are endangered beautiful creatures that should be looked after very well.
The mother sea turtle lays about 1000 eggs and only 800 hatched.When the baby sea turtles try to get into the water the crabs and other predators keep them away from the water so only 400 survive the way to the sea. Dangerous sea animals are bad for the turtles but can avoid animals but not poison that humans have dumped into the water and plastic bags so that makes 20 only survive.


Stop killing these innocent beautiful creatures help them to survive they do nothing to hurt us.

Letters From Our Buddies

Today we had a surprise. Letters had arrived for us from Room 7 at Clevedon School. They wanted to be our buddies. Oskar was surprised that his buddy was called Oscar, and Gemma said that her buddy was just like her. It was really exciting reading what they had written and we are looking forward to writing back to them.

Science In the Van

Omg!! The chicken went up the rope with the force we were giving  all the Lp dropped on the ground while it was going up and that was amazing.Next we did The stupid egg trick it.To do the stupid egg trick you need 3 glasses of water,1 piece of cardboard, 3 Candle,And 3 eggs.So first you have to get the three glasses of water then put the cardboard on top then put the 3 candles on and then put the 3 eggs on top then pull the cardboard then the egg gets in the glass.Did you know that if you have  more spikes on a chair then it won't really hurt but if there's one it will hurt?

Ice Cream Art

In term one we made ice creams I took some time to make it but Neil finished it before me. My ice cream was called BIG BIKKIE and Neil ice cream was called tinny gum drops. Mine was coloured orange background with brown spots for chocolate chips. Neil's one had green for background with brown and orange for gum drops. When we finished stapling the ice cream and the cone we made them chubby with newspaper filling. Miss Lankow didn't staple all of it she left a little gap on the top.At the end all of the ice creams looked marvellous.

Amazing Netball

At netball I threw the ball to my buddy.  When my buddy Jaashan threw the ball it hit my hands really hard.  When we played netball my team and me had to go really fast to beat the other team at netball.

At PE we played netball first we did parses to my buddy Joshua then we played a game.  The game was netball she put us into two groups and gave us numbers all the way to 13 we had to pass from one to 13 then we had to race it back to the middle of the courts.  I loved netball and I wish I could do it again.

We've been to the Birkenhead Leisure Centre!

Fabulous!  Amazing!  Tiring!  Fantastic!  Awesome!  Exhausting!  Powerful!  Enchanting!  Fun!  These are all words to describe our experience at the Birkenhead Leisure Centre.  We had a day filled with great activities like kayaking, team building games and archery.  Sumit thinks kayaking was the most fun.  Lots of us fell in the water.  In archery we learnt about Larry.  He had to face upwards to make sure we shot the arrow correctly.  It was a wonderful day!  Here are some photos of our terrific day!

Today's Terrific Te Tuhi Trip

Today's trip was awesome!  We went to the Te Tuhi art gallery.

First we had to paint clear paper with black paint.  Then it was dried on the stairs.  We had to use black paper that the class before us had painted because it was already dry.

We had to trace a letter onto the paper and then draw our NZ pictures around the outside.  We carved out the pictures using an etching tool.  If we put the white paper behind it we could see the etching better.  We used a tissue to dry the water we put on the letters to help the paint come off more easily.

When we had finished we lined up and went to see some artwork.

It's Time for Long Ball

Today we played long ball.  There was one fielding team and one running team.  One of the teams was called Chocolate Chip Cookies and the other was called Gummi Bears.  CCC got the same points for both rounds.

One team throws the ball and then runs to the other end.  If they get hit they are out.  If they get back safely they get a point for their team.  The other team, who are fielding, tries to catch the ball and throw it at the runners.

Maya and Zachary felt excited, Jordan felt nervous and Jaashan was awesome!  Jessica decided it was a good way to encourage others.  Miss L has found out that we have some amazing sportspeople in our class.

It's Time for Golf

Whack!  Oskar hit the tennis ball far across the field.  It went flying up and came down a long way from us.

Today we were learning how to play golf.  Vicki was excited, Jordan was nervous and Zachary was feeling pretty confident.  We learnt how to hold a golf club and swing to hit the ball.

We have another golf lesson in two weeks time.  Maybe Miss L's bruise will be gone by then.

Twinkle Twinkle Room 30

Today is the third day of school.  We started on our stars.  It's really hard to fold the stars, but we are persevering.  The information on our stars is our dreams, what we want to be, our favourite things and what we like.  We'll post a photo when they are finished.

Consequences

Today we read the story Because a Little Bug went Ka-CHOO! and talked about consequences.  Our consequences for doing the right things are gold stars, being on the impressive list, being told you're great, house points, stickers and stamps.  Consequences for doing the wrong thing include a warning, then the thinking spot, then we might be sent to another room.

We're all hoping for the positive consequences!

A Wonderful First Day Back at School

Here is where you will find out about all the marvellous, exciting and fabulous things we do during the year.  So far today we have written our class expectations, talked to our neighbour Mr Rankin (who says funny things), written a letter to our teacher, talked about what we like doing and started to get to know everyone in our class so we can make new friends.
